Air-O-Cell®: Efficient Airborne Particulate Collection

The Air-O-Cell® is a user-friendly tool designed for the swift collection of various airborne particulates, including:

• Bioaerosols: Mold spores, pollen, insect fragments, skin cell debris

This specialized air sampling cassette effectively captures both viable and non-viable samples, offering a comprehensive view of potential allergens and contaminants beyond traditional sampling methods.

The Air-O-Cell utilizes inertial impaction, where air containing particulates is drawn through a tapered inlet slit. The airflow directs particles onto a small slide with collection media, ensuring they are captured without distortion. This design minimizes sample loss during transport and laboratory processing, maintaining the integrity of the collected data.

Once sampling is completed, the cassettes are sent to a laboratory for direct microscopic analysis. The collection media works well with various biological stains and refractive index oils, facilitating precise quantitative analysis of both organic and inorganic particulates.

The Air-O-Cell is compatible with any standard area sampling pump capable of drawing 15 LPM open flow, and its compact size makes it ideal for use in tight spaces.
